Michael Tsiros is Professor and Chairperson at
the Marketing department at University of
Miami and Tassos Papastratos
Research Professor of Marketing at ALBA
Graduate Business School, Greece. Previously, he was with the faculty at
the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth
College, London Business School, and at the Olin School of Business at Washington University in St. Louis.
He holds a B.S. (with honors) in
Computer Science and Business from St. John's University,
an MBA from St. John's University,
and a Ph.D. in Marketing from Temple University.
His research interests include the role of
customer satisfaction and regret in decision-making and behavioral pricing. His
research applies phenomena examined in the areas of behavioral decision theory,
social, and cognitive psychology into marketing. His articles have appeared in
leading journals such as Journal of Marketing
Research, Journal of Consumer Research, Journal
of Marketing, Journal of Retailing,
Journal of Service Research, and Organizational Behavior and Human Decision
Processes.
He was awarded the 2010 William R.
Davidson award for best paper published in the Journal of Retailing. In 2005 he was selected to be one of the 30 participants
worldwide in the Young Scholars Program
which selects the most promising marketing scholars and is sponsored by the
prestigious Marketing Science Institute.
He has served on the Editorial Board at Journal of Marketing. He currently serves on the Editorial
Boards at Journal of Retailing and Journal of Services Research. He has
taught several courses of Introduction to Marketing, Consumer Behavior,
Marketing Research, and Services Marketing at the undergraduate, graduate, and
executive level. He has also worked and consulted for several marketing
research companies (e.g., The Response Center, Research Data Analysis, Maritz
Marketing Research).
